The one-way (single-use) wooden pallet is the economical option for export and for shipments with no return logistics — no exchange, no pooling fees. 4 strength levels, standardised 1200×800 and 1200×1000 mm formats, all ISPM 15 heat-treated for shipping outside the EU and to the UK.

Unlike EPAL Euro pallets, which are built for multi-rotation in an open exchange pool, one-way pallets are designed for a single trip. They carry no exchange value, no deposit and never re-enter a pool — which is exactly the point: a much lower unit cost than an exchange-grade pallet, with ISPM 15 heat treatment included so the same pallet clears phytosanitary controls anywhere in the world. How exchange and pooling systems work — and when they are worth paying for — is covered in our pallet exchange & pooling guide.
They come in 4 load levels: light (≤ 500 kg), semi-heavy (750 kg), medium-heavy (850 kg) and heavy (1,000 kg). Most models have 4-way entry and 3 bottom boards.
Every one-way model comes in variants along two dimensions:
Overhanging or flush deck: on an overhanging deck, the top boards extend beyond the blocks and bottom boards. This makes shrink-wrapping easier (the film grips the protruding edges) and spreads the load more evenly over the supports. On a flush deck (straight edges), the deck is aligned with the blocks — empty pallets stack more stably and store more compactly.
5-board (standard) or 7-board (close-boarded) deck: a 5-board deck is the standard configuration, with wider gaps between boards — sufficient for stable loads and large-format cartons. The 7-board deck (close-boarded) narrows the gaps to a few centimetres, giving better support for small parcels, bags, pots or any packaging that could tip into the gaps. The close-boarded deck is recommended for retail distribution, food products and the export of fragile goods.
Good to know: every combination is available — a semi-heavy 1200×800 can be ordered with a 5- or 7-board deck, overhanging or flush. State your preferences when requesting a quote.

The two standard formats are 1200×800 mm (the most common, same footprint as the EPAL Euro pallet) and 1200×1000 mm (retail distribution and many exports). Usual heights: 120 mm (light/semi-heavy) to 155 mm (heavy). Other dimensions are available as custom builds: 600×400, 800×600, or specific sizes matched to your packaging.
It depends on the model, the volume and the payment terms. Indicatively: €4.30–5.40 excl. VAT for a light 1200×800, €4.80–6.00 excl. VAT for a semi-heavy. In 1200×1000 mm: €3.80–4.75 excl. VAT (light) and €4.40–5.50 excl. VAT (semi-heavy). Heavy models and special formats are quoted on request. All include ISPM 15 treatment and IPPC marking.
The one-way pallet is designed for a single trip: cheaper to buy, no return logistics, no exchange obligations — ideal for export or shipments with no rotation. The EPAL Euro pallet circulates in an open exchange pool and is built for many cycles: more expensive to buy but amortised over time in a closed loop. Detailed comparison EPAL vs one-way →

We deliver by full truckload from 300 pallets. Below that volume, your order remains available for pickup at one of our 3 depots in the Paris region: Pontault-Combault, Chilly-Mazarin and Mitry-Mory (France). One-way pallets stack high — a full truckload carries several hundred units, which keeps the per-unit transport cost low across Europe. Pickup & delivery →
